Book Paper Decor

I would like to welcome everyone to the first post on  ExpressiveCrafts.com were we explore a variety of different ways to spice up our lives with DIY Art. Our first project will be a very simple yet beautiful way to liven up our walls with a page from an old book. This technique is not new, but it is one of my favorite wall decor ideas.

Supplies

  1. An old book
  2. Charcoal Pencils
  3. Charcoal
  4. *A graphite pencil if needed for a sketch  Book Art

Step 1

The first thing to do is to tear a page form the old book; tear as close to the inside seem as possible. You can cut the top torn part off if you want, i kept it for this example (although i might  cut it in the future, it looks cleaner.)

Step 2

Pick a image you would like to draw and sketch it out. if you don’t want to use charcoal you can use oil pastels or colored pencils to add a little color. Ink also  looks good for this project.  I wouldn’t recommend anything too watery like watercolor because it will warp the paper (Unless you want that Look).

Step 3

Hang it on your wall and be proud of your new art work; you can have the picture laminated, have it framed or hang it any way you see fit
