In the previous post we used one piece of paper for our wall art, this post we will use the whole book.(Preferably an older book) We will create a simple but stylish wall decoration.
Supplies
- An Old Book
- Twine or string
- Charcoal or graphite pencil. (or ink pen if you are adventurous)
- a Ruler or thin piece of wood
- Glue Gun
- a whole punch or a metal skewer.
Step 1
Open to the middle of the book and start punching a whole in the center of the pages at the ends. Take one chunk of pages at a time. After you make a hole in the first chunk, close the book and mark were you will need to make the next set of holes with the next chunk of pages (as shown in the second picture). Go all the way until you reach the back of the book. (Be careful not to cut yourself if you are using a skewer.)
Step 2
After you have made the holes all the way to the very last page use the string to tie all the pages together.
Step 3
Once the pages are tied together use the hot glue gun to glue the back of the book to the block of pages. Do this for both sides.
Step 4
Once the pages are glued to the back, flip the book over and glue in place the ruler or thin piece of wood to keep the book open. Then glue on the String hanger to the back of the book (on each side). Make sure the string hanger is glued on good.
Step 5
Draw whatever design you want and then hang it on your wall and be proud. This is a fun project and it is very simple.
